Michael Wilbur “Mike” McGuire

Michael Wilbur “Mike” McGuire died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, in Oklahoma City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Strode Funeral Home. Interment will be at 2 p.m.
in Paradise Cemetery under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.
Mike was born June 22, 1941, in Stillwater to Wilbur “Mugs” McGuire and Pauline (Longan) McGuire.
He was raised near Mehan at his family’s farm, known as Sooner Valley Farm.

Mike grew up working with his father on the farm.
He attended Ripley Schools and Oklahoma State University in the school of agriculture.
While in school, he participated in dairy and meat judging competitions.
He left school to answer the call of the Army, serving in Korea.

During his life, Mike had many different career paths, including working as a truck driver,
for the Oklahoma Employment Service in Stillwater and Claremore,
as personnel and safety manager for Erlanger Tubing Company and finally,
as co-owner and operator of Farm and Home Supply with his wife, Sandy.
He retired last year from Farm and Home.

Mike enjoyed the farm life, raising cattle and the various menagerie of animals that could be found on the farm at any time.
He was a lover of literature and enjoyed reading westerns and Oklahoma historical books.

Mike was predeceased by his parents and one grandson, William.
He is survived by his wife Sandy, of the home
and several children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins in and around the area.
